Brock M. Mickelsen

Bio

Brock Mickelsen’s artistic practice is rooted in hand-made and alternative process photography with branches into movement and meditation as art. Focusing on the shifting dynamics and the power of place his work explores agency and the interactions between the human and more-than-human world. Cultivated by his experiences in the environments he works with, Brock aims to captures the subtle interplay between place and identity using his practice as both a reflection of, and a conversation with these places. He received his MFA in studio art from the University of Montana, and has taught in Montana, and Utah before moving to CCRI.
