Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education is a component of PrepareRI, an initiative intended to support programs that will prepare all Rhode Island youth with the skills they need for the jobs that pay. Career and Technical Education programs consist of three or more courses which will help students earn an industry credential and prepare them to enter the workforce. Rhode Island’s CTE programs are located in all high schools, postsecondary institutions, adult skills training facilities, or CTE centers across the state and are rigorously equipped to prepare youths and adults for a range of high-wage, high-skilled, and high-demand careers. CCRI works closely with Rhode Island Career and Technical Centers and the numerous CTE programs in the traditional high schools across the state.

High School Enrichment
The High School Enrichment Program at CCRI offers high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to pursue post-secondary educational experiences. It is a part-time program for students to enroll in up to two courses (8 credits) per semester during fall and spring semesters. Students must have a recommendation from a high school counselor. Course selection is at the discretion of the high school counselor and the student.
Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH)
The RI P-TECH initiative is supported by Rhode Island Commerce, the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), and industry partners. P-TECH integrates high school, college and the workplace with a focus on science, technology, engineering and math. In addition to their high school diploma, students can graduate from secondary school with an Associate Degree from CCRI and work-based experiences in high-growth, high-wage industries. The goal is to graduate students who are college and career-ready. Students see themselves as college students on a career pathway from when they begin the program in 9th grade. Many students will finish their last year of high school taking a full college course load at CCRI. Although CTE programs are offered in almost every Rhode Island public high school, only five schools have P-TECH programs.
