SafeZone is a nationally recognized program and system of training and awareness workshops.
SafeZone seeks to create more understanding throughout the community of the issues
faced by LGBTQ students, who sometimes, because of their sexual orientation or gender
expression, do not feel entirely safe among fellow students or even members of the
faculty or staff.
CCRI has several community members (students, faculty and staff) who make themselves
and their areas available for SafeZones. Every month, the Gender Equity Initiative
offers training for community members who are interested, so the number of SafeZones
is continually growing.

Look for this symbol, which indicates that the person or specific area is a designated
CCRI SafeZone.
Do you want to be trained to offer a SafeZone for those who may need one? Please fill
out the registration form.
