Better Together: Ensuring Equity in Healthcare through Inter-Professional Education and Practice

 

Better Together

Learn about interprofessional education and practice through this in-person Continuing Education activity, jointly provided by Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island! Learn about various systems of oppression in healthcare that impact the social mission in health professional education while gaining knowledge of the efforts among health professional trainees to resist these structures and reform health professional training. 

Registration includes lunch and contact hours for nurses, social workers, and dental health professionals!

Learning Outcomes

  • As a result of this activity, learners will agree that the program has enhanced and validated their practice in working interprofessionally with members of the healthcare team. 

Accreditation and Credit Designation

  • Nursing – This nursing continuing professional development activity is provided by the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) for 2.5 nursing contact hour. CCRI is approved as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by the Northeast Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 
  • Dental Professionals – This program qualifies for 2.5 continuing education credit through the Community College of Rhode Island, a CODA-accredited institution. 
  • Social Work - This program has been submitted for social work contact hours.
