The Mona Lisa Module

To develop the mind: Study the art of science. Study the science of art. Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else.
- Leonardo Da Vinci

The Mona Lisa Module is the prototype for the Prismatic Perception Humanities web page.

Centered in this hypermedia virtual learning environment, the study of the Mona Lisa will achieve a dynamic holistic quality. Students will journey through a contextualized, multidimensional, virtual world previously unavailable to them.

They will have the ability to delve into the life of Leonardo da Vinci, listen to his own musical compositions, view paintings that were produced in the 16th century throughout Europe, compare and contrast the literary texts of the time, journey virtually to Florence, then to the Louvre in Paris, and step into and explore the historical context in which Leonardo da Vinci lived.

Transposed to this interactive, hyperlinked, multifarious setting, the Mona Lisa web module will enable our students to begin to view their studies as implicitly holistic and will ultimately foster critical thinking.
