ACCUPLACER Accommodation Requests

Following their acceptance for admission to the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), all new students are contacted to schedule mandatory placement tests in writing, reading and math before they may register for classes.

Requesting ACCUPLACER Accommodations

If you are requesting accommodations for the ACCUPLACER, documentation of your disability must be submitted to CCRI’s Disability Accessibility for Students (DAS).  Your request will then be reviewed for approval by the DAS office before your test can be scheduled.  Please follow these steps below:

Step 1: Obtain documentation of your disability.

Step 2: Fill out our New Student Application on our website and indicate you are looking for accommodations for the Accuplacer. There will be a link for you to upload your documentation at the bottom of the application.

Step 3: Check your CCRI email. You should receive two emails:

  • One email regarding Accuplacer accommodations
  • Second email regarding course accommodations

**Please note that course accommodations are not set until an intake meeting is held. Accommodations provided for an Accuplacer exam are NOT COURSE ACCOMMODATIONS.  An intake appointment with a DAS coordinator is required to receive course accommodations.

Step 4: After you have completed your ACCUPLACER, make an appointment with Advising to create a schedule for the upcoming semester.  Please see Advising's webpage.
