Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant training is for people who want to work with patients in a clinical setting. Program graduates can expect to begin careers as clinical medical assistants and will be doing their externship with our lead employer, Integrated Healthcare Partners. Students will learn a wide array of skills including patient triage, patient education, specimen collection, injections, vital signs, ECGs, social determinants of health, and a wide array of other skills to prepare them for success after graduation. 

The Medical Assistant training runs for approximately 16 weeks, 30 hours per week (12 weeks of training and 4 weeks in a clinical externship) and employment assistance is included with the program.

Interviews have concluded for the cohort starting February 19.

Prerequisites:

  • GED or high school diploma is required.
  • Must be a Rhode Island resident.
  • Bilingual students are encouraged to apply.

Due to the nature of this program, full immunizations are required for participation. The COVID-19 vaccine is required, and the booster is required if it has been more than two (2) months since your last dose. No exceptions for students.
