Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant training is for people who want to work with patients in a clinical setting. Program graduates can expect to begin careers as clinical medical assistants. Students will learn a wide array of skills including patient triage, patient education, specimen collection, injections, vital signs, ECGs, social determinants of health, and a wide array of other skills to prepare them for success after graduation.
The Medical Assistant training runs for approximately 16 weeks, 30 hours per week (12 weeks of training and 4 weeks in a clinical externship) and employment assistance is included with the program.

Interviews for the October 2024 cohort will begin in mid-September.
Prerequisites:
- GED or high school diploma is required.
- Must be a Rhode Island resident.
- Bilingual students are encouraged to apply.
Due to the nature of this program, full immunizations are required for participation. Acceptable evidence of COVID-19 vaccination is required, or a medical exemption from a licensed healthcare provider, or religious exemption, in accordance with Rhode Island Department of Health regulations and other state or federal regulations.
