Bio
Lisa Proffitt is a Registered Dental Hygienist and is licensed to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. She earned her B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, with a focus in Gerontology, from the University of Rhode Island. Additionally, she holds a permit to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide, as well as, a Public Health Dental Hygiene and DANB certificate. Lisa began her career in private practice and spent almost three decades in a periodontal practice. Lisa began her teaching career in 2017 at the Colleges in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and came to the Community College of Rhode in 2019. She was hired as an assistant professor in the Dental Health Department in 2021. She teaches Oral Pathology, Embryology and Histology, Introduction to Periodontology, and Clinical Dental Hygiene. Lisa is a member of the American Dental Hygienist' Association and dedicates her time annually for dental Mission trips abroad.
