How Does Wireless Work?

Wireless technology works much the same way a mobile phone works by using airwaves instead of wires to carry data from one point to another. In a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), members of the college community will be able to access CCRI services, like MyCCRI, as well as resources on the internet from portable computers with wireless network cards.

All wireless services will be complimentary to the existing wired network and will not replace the current wired network. The wireless service will not extend beyond the physical boundaries of each individual campus.
