Helen J. McGovern

Bio

Professor Helen McGovern graduated with her B.S. in Nursing from St Joseph’s College and her M.S. from the University of Rhode Island. She has over 35 years of nursing experience specializing in Cardiac Critical Care, Management, Ambulatory, and Medical-Surgical Nursing. She is also Board Certified in Gerontology.

Professor McGovern has actively practiced as a nurse in various settings since 1980.

Professor McGovern began teaching at the Community College of Rhode Island in 2001. She specializes in Medical Surgical Nursing. In addition to her full time position at CCRI, Professor McGovern also practices as a Clinical Development Specialist at Rhode Island Hospital. There she is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of various staff development programs.
