Inter-Institutional Student Exchange Program

Any full-time student enrolled in a degree program may enroll in a maximum of seven credits of his or her full-time schedule during each of the fall and spring semesters at the University of Rhode Island and/or Rhode Island College at no additional expense. Students must be enrolled for at least five credits at CCRI and the total number of credits taken at all institutions combined must be at least 12 credits but not to exceed 18 credits. Summer session registrants are not eligible for this program. 

Instructions for Engineering Transfer students who need to take URI courses toward their CCRI Degree program.

  1. Consult the Recommended Course Sequence for your major, in the CCRI catalog.
  2. Register for CCRI courses and either pay full-time tuition or arrange for financial aid.
  3. Apply to URI as a Non-Degree Student.
  4. Once acceptance email is received, look for necessary courses through URI's e-Campus.
  5. Email instructor(s) with Unofficial Transcript attached, to demonstrate completion of prerequisite coursework and request permission/override code(s).
  6. Register for courses in e-Campus using provided code(s).
  7. Make an appointment with an advisor to review courses and complete the application form.
  8. A copy of the approved form will be sent to your MyCCRI email account.
  9. Pay URI bill for course fee ($25, $50 or $75) and transcript fee ($50).
  10. Send copy of URI schedule to: [email protected], before the end of the drop period (https://www.ccri.edu/academics/index.html).
  11. After semester grades have been posted, send an official URI transcript to:
