Process Technology

This bootcamp-style training will rapidly educate students in several of the disciplines used in process technology.

In collaboration with the Westerly Education Center and the Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, CCRI is offering a 10-week, 300-hour training in Process Technology. 

This bootcamp-style training will rapidly educate students in several of the disciplines used in process technology. The training will familiarize individuals with:

  • chemical processing;
  • government regulations;
  • safety and workplace responsibilities;
  • physical properties and determinations;
  • chemical calculations;
  • handling chemicals;
  • pressure and vacuum;
  • fluid mechanics and plumbing;
  • computer control and monitoring systems;
  • Creating and following standard operating procedures;
  • basic electricity.

This job skills training program will combine classroom and hands-on instruction with instrumentation and software.

No experience is necessary. A GED® or high school diploma is required.

Industries needing process technologists include health science, pharmaceutical, materials testing, medical research, brewing, consumer product, wastewater treatment and food manufacturing.

When: September 8 - November 18, 2025, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Cost: FREE for qualified participants!

Credential received: CCRI Certificate in Process Technology, and 6 academic credits that can be applied toward CCRI’s Academic Certificate in Biotechnology.
