What is PBHS?

PBHS stands for Performance-Based Health Science, the competitive admissions process to gain acceptance into the Community College of Rhode Island health science programs. Enrollment Steps

Apply Now

If you are an international student, you MUST complete and submit the International Student Application.

  • NOTE: List General Studies as your major and select the health science program you're pursuing as your concentration.
  • EXAMPLE: If you are interested in the Nursing associate program: General Studies is the major and Pre-Nursing is the concentration.

First, you'll need your CCRI login credentials. If you do not have your credentials visit our Important Login Information page.

  1. Once you have your login information, Visit the Secure Login page and click on the MYCCRI link.
  2. You’ll then see a login screen. Enter your user name  (CCRI email) and password.

Submit Transcript

Submit to [email protected] an official copy of a high school transcript, GED® transcript or baccalaureate transcript from an accredited institution, including date of graduation or completion.

Meet with an advisor on campus or at a virtual drop in session to select classes.

  • Apply for Financial Aid at FAFSA
  • Please include the CCRI school code 004916.

IMPORTANT: The Health Sciences admissions process requires successful completion of program requirements before you are eligible to apply to a PBHS program.

Application Periods

February-March Application Period 2026

Nursing Associate Degree - February 1 to March 31 - Fall 2026 class start

The online Performance-Based Health Science Nursing Associate Degree application period will be open from Sunday, February 1 and conclude on Tuesday, March 31. Applications submitted throughout this time period are treated the same regardless of submission date.

February Application Period 2026

Health Science Programs - February 1 to February 28 - Fall & Summer class starts

The online Performance-Based Health Science application period will be open from Sunday, February 1, and conclude on Saturday, February 28.  Applications submitted throughout this time period are treated the same regardless of submission date.
