Please call 401-825-2404 to schedule your CLEP Exam
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is offered at the Community College of Rhode Island. CLEP is sponsored by the College Board and offers you the opportunity to obtain college credit by examination. Many American colleges encourage students to take CLEP tests for credit in subjects they have mastered. People of all ages interested in pursuing a college education have reduced cost in time and money completing CLEP tests.
CLEP TESTS ARE COMPUTER-BASED. CLEP offers two types of 90-minute multiple choice tests. The General Examinations are designed to measure familiarity with material which would be covered in courses taken during the first two years of college to meet the general education or liberal arts requirements, and are offered in English Composition, Humanities, College Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & History. Subject examinations are designed to measure knowledge and achievement usually covered in specific college courses.
To schedule an appointment, please call 401-825-2404. There is a $30 proctor fee for non-CCRI, non-matriculating students.
You will need to bring a photo identification the day of the test (i.e. valid license, current passport, military ID, State ID and tribal ID)
Testing is available at all four Testing Centers by appointment.
