Rhode Island Industrial Training & Assessment Center
Our Mission
The Rhode Island Industrial Training & Assessment Center (RI-ITAC), based out of the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), is a U.S. Department of Energy-funded Industrial Training & Assessment Center. Our mission is to provide no-cost, no-obligation energy audits and consulting services to small-to-medium-sized manufacturers and municipal water supply and waste water treatment facilities. Through our services, we aim to assist manufacturers in saving energy, reducing waste water usage, minimizing industrial waste, reducing carbon footprint, adopting renewable energy, and improving productivity. Our services are available to those qualified manufacturers within 150 miles of the RI-ITAC (Warwick, RI).
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a free assessment from the RI-ITAC, the company must meet the following requirements:
- The site must be less than 150 miles from CCRI-Warwick campus.
- The NAICS industry code must be between 31100-33999 for manufacturers or 22131-22132 for water supply systems or sewage treatment facilities.
- The SIC industry code must be between 2000-3999 for manufacturers, 4941 for water supply systems, and 4952 for sewage treatment facilities.
- The annual sales of the business must be less than $250 million.
- The business must have less than 500 employees.
- The annual energy cost of the business must be between $100,000 and $3.5 million.
- The business should not have any in-house energy professionals.
Dept. of Energy ITAC Implementation Grant
Manufacturers or water/sewage treatment facilities that have an ITAC assessment performed are eligible to apply for an ITAC implementation grant. These implementation grants will fund up to $300,000 in cost-share for any project that addresses recommendations made in the ITAC assessment report.
