In October 1994, in celebration of the college’s 30th anniversary, the CCRI Foundation created the CCRI Hall of Fame to honor individuals who have made substantial contributions to the mission and evolution of the college.

CCRI inducts three to its Hall of Fame
The Community College of Rhode Island held its biennial college Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 22, 2012, at the Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, R.I. The college recognized the following individuals for their significant contributions to CCRI: Vincent A. Cullen, former athletic director, basketball coach and professor; Dr. Robert A. Silvestre, former vice president for academic affairs and one of the college’s 13 founding faculty members; and Charles R. Wilkes, former professor of mathematics and assistant basketball coach.
2010 Induction Ceremony coverage
The Community College of Rhode Island celebrated two honorees during its Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 18, at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, R.I. The college recognized John S. “Jack” Renza, Jr. managing partner of Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. and a long-time CCRI faculty member, and Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
