Warwick, R.I. – November 27, 2018: The CCRI Department of Athletics organized a food drive to benefit the school's food pantry.

CCRI Associate Dean of Student Life Christine Jenkins is in the process of relocating the food bank to the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln, where the college has the most available space. In the past, there have been pantries on multiple campuses, but the new plan is to centralize them out of Lincoln, resulting in the need for donations.

The CCRI Department of Athletics jumped at the chance to contribute and, true to form, made it a contest between all the sports' teams with the departmental staff as an additional team. For the past two weeks, teams collected goods for the drive, which ended Nov. 20th. The CCRI Athletics staff led the way with 168 total items collected, followed by the women's volleyball team with 96 and the softball team with 79 total items. All told, the CCRI Department of athletics collected 476 food items for the food pantry.
