Warwick, R.I. – February 19, 2019: The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team hosted the Bayhawks of Bristol Community College for a Region XXI game on Monday evening. The Lady Knights defeated the Bayhawks 71-24. With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 11-11 overall and 6-2 in Region XXI play.

The Lady Knights and Bayhawks had met earlier in the season with CCRI winning 87-16 in December. This game would not be much different. The Lady Knights dominated the first quarter as they outscored the Bayhawks 29-3 and they never looked back. By halftime CCRI had built up a 51-11 lead. In the second half it was the same story as the Lady Knights lead ballooned to 69-18 before they won by the final tally of 71-24.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was freshman Olivia Batastini (Providence, RI) with a game-high 21 points including five 3-pointers and six assists. Faith Fahnbulleh (Providence, RI) had by far her best game of her freshman campaign with a monster double-double with career-highs of 13 points and 16 rebounds with two blocked shots. Co-Captain Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI) also had a double-double with 12 points with a career-high 11 steals with seven assists and five rebounds. Co-Captain Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) had the third double-double of the night for CCRI and her 11th double-double of the season with 11 point, 15 rebounds while adding six assists and five steals. Also playing well was Jordan Northup (South Kingstown, RI) with 10 points with two 3-pointers and four rebounds. Rounding out the jam packed stat page for the Lady Knights was Co-Captain Waleska Kelly (Pawtucket, RI) with just two points but 15 rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots while Arionna Ranglin (Cranston, RI) added two points, a career-high nine rebounds and a blocked shot.

The next game for the Lady Knights will be Wednesday when they travel to Brockton, MA to play the No. 1 ranked (NJCAA DIII poll) Warriors of Massasoit Community College for a Region XXI non-league game at 5:30pm.
