Track & Field Performs Well in Sheehan Invite at Fitchburg State!

Warwick, R.I. – April 8, 2019: The Community College of Rhode Island Knights Track & Field student-athletes went to Fitchburg state University in Fitchburg, MA to compete in the James Sheehan Memorial Invitational. The Knights and Lady Knights represented CCRI well at the Sheehan Invitational. Conditions were sunny with a cool breeze, perfect race conditions by all accounts!

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was sophomore Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) who finished 28th in the 1,500m run a time of 6 minutes 17.10 seconds. Freshman Hannah Morrissey (Burrillville, RI) finished 17th in the 400m in 1:18.09. Morrissey doubled back in the 200m to run a time of 32.88 seconds where she finished 30th.

On the Men's side, for the Knights freshman Aaron Cedeno (North Providence, RI) finished 18th in the 400m in a fine time of 56.47 seconds.

Assistant Coach Hunter Stewart commented after the Invitational: "A solid day of competition by all the Knights! Next week we are on to Connecticut College Invitational!"

The next meet for CCRI will be Saturday the 13th when they travel to Connecticut College in New London, CT to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational beginning at 10am.
