Golf Galvanized Ahead of Regionals

Warwick, R.I. – May 16, 2018: The CCRI Knights golf team competed on Tuesday evening at Swansea County Club in Swansea, MA. The Knights were the lone team, with individuals from Springfield Technical Institute, Mass Bay Community College, Massasoit Community College and Bristol Community College partaking as well.

The golfers took to the Geoffrey S. Cornish designed Par 72, 5700-yard course located in Eastern Massachusetts. This was the Knights' last competition before the Regional tournament next week. The CCRI team was led by Tyler Boisclair (West Warwick, RI) who carded a four over par, 76 which bettered the next competitor by nine strokes. Mike Occhi (Portsmouth, RI) registered a +17, 89 on the day. Kyle Dagesse (Lincoln, RI) chipped in with a 20+, 92. Last but certainly not least, Matthew Malo (Cranston, RI) recorded a 35+, 109. The Knights combined for a team score of 366 but no other teams were fielded on the day.

The Knights will host the Region XXI tournament with a practice round on Monday, May 21st and the competition running Tuesday the 22nd and Wednesday the 23rd.
