R.I. Transition to College and Career Initiative

The Center for Workforce and Community Education (CWCE) partners with five adult education programs including Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, Education Exchange, Rhode Island Regional Adult Learning (RIRAL) and Westbay Community Action Program, associates in the Rhode Island Transition to College and Careers Initiative.

Each agency provides transition or bridge to college and career programs for nontraditional adult students returning to academic life.

Programs offer student success preparation, including academic instruction, tutoring, mentoring and development of college success skills. Select programs also offer a college class at the Community College of Rhode Island. In addition, there is assistance with financial aid and college application processes.
