English as a Second Language (ESL)

The Center for Workforce & Community Education offers ESL classes designed to give students an understanding of the basics of the English language. The goal of the program is to help speakers of other languages achieve a level of English proficiency which will enable them to function better in everyday living, enter a job training program, improve performance at a job site, and/or pursue further education.

Six levels of basic English are offered at the Flanagan Campus and Davies Career & Technical High School in Lincoln. The Liston Campus in Providence offers Levels 1-4. All classes are offered in 15 sessions with a total of 45 hours. A reading class and a writing class also are offered for those who wish to continue after completing the different levels.
