Knights’ Cross Country Topples Tri-State Invitational

Warwick, R.I. – October 1, 2018: The CCRI Knights cross country team hosted the Tri-State Invitational on Saturday, September 29th. The familiar faces of Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI), Kelder Cardoso (Pawtucket, RI), Gian Geruso (North Providence, RI) and Brandon Bun (Pawtucket, RI) took to their saturated home courses alongside fellow NJCAA runners as well as those from NCAA schools.

The women ran their 5k course first. Saramarie Cerullo was the lone runner for the Knights and completed the muddy course in a time of 25 minutes, 54.7 seconds. This earned Saramarie 41st place overall.

For the men's side, Kelder Cardoso led the trio, placing 21st with a time of 32:51.9. not far behind was Gian Geruso who ran the 8k course in 34:11.8, taking 30th place. Last but certainly not least was Brandon Bun who finished the race in 49th place, running a time of 40:07.9.

The Knights will next take the next week off and come back to the action as they travel to Boston, MA to run in the Suffolk University Invitational on October 12th at 3pm.
