Peter S. Gallagher ’67

Peter Gallagher, a member of CCRI’s class of 1967, was an active member of CCRI community through his work with the CCRI Foundation and the Alumni Association.

A former vice president of New England Insurance Associated, Ltd. in Cranston, Gallagher was an insurance agent and broker since 1970. He is past president if Pawtuxet Valley Regional CYO and a former CYO basketball coach. He also served as a Eucharistic minister and lector at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in West Warwick.

Active in community service, Gallagher is past president of the Board of Directors for Shinning Light Health Center of Rhode Island, a health care center dedicated to serving minorities with HIV or AIDS. As former president of the CCRI Foundation from 1984-85, he led the efforts in beginning the annual Golf Classic events and worked to ensure coordination between the Foundation and the Alumni Association. He is a member of the Rhode Island Association of Independent Agents of America and Professional Insurance Agents of America. He also was a senior arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Rhode Island.

From 1967 to 1970, Gallagher served with the 77th Military Police Department of the U.S. Army in Mannheim, Germany. He was a member of the Rhode Island Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
