Intro to Data Analytics
Topics covered: Data Analysis Concepts and Techniques, Data Collection and Cleaning Methods, MS Excel skills (Intermediate & Advanced), Discrete Mathematics overview, Analysis Methods. Students will complete a Final Project based on a dataset of their choosing. 30 classroom hours, 15 classes
Intro to Data Visualization (using Power BI)
The DL 102 course covers data visualization using the Power BI platform. The first half of the course builds off DL 101's introduction to data analysis and statistics and further explores analytics while introducing core concepts in data visualization and application. The second half of the course focuses on the practical use of Power BI where students learn; calculated measures and columns, connecting to and importing data, customized visualizations and DAX (power BI's functional language). There is a final project requirement to complete the course which consists of creating a Power BI visualization of the student's choosing using the visualization concepts, mathematics and DAX language covered in the course. 30 classroom hours, 15 classes
