The ventricles (left and right) are often described as the pumping chambers of the heart.  Blood enters the ventricles from the atria.  They provide most of the pressure necessary to move blood through the vessels of the body.  They are found at the inferior (caudal) end of the heart.  They have thick walls compared to the atria.
