Dr. J tells his students that a process is a part of the bone they can pinch between their fingers.  The superior articular process projects in a superior direction from the junction of the lamina and the pedicle while the inferior articular process projects in an inferior direction from that junction.  The articular facets are on one side of the process.  The angles for the various regions is discussed under the articular facets.
