In the adult human, the medial (vertebral) border of the scapula is normally about three fingers width lateral to the vertebral border.  The medial (vertebral) border of the scapula is the insertion for:
1.    rhomboideus major,
2.    rhomboideus minor,
3.    serratus anterior (anterior surface along the medial border).
