The Personal Assessment of the College Environment (PACE) survey was conducted in
November and December 2018 as part of our strategic planning process, and it marks
the first comprehensive climate survey conducted at CCRI. The decision to conduct
a survey reflects our commitment to strengthen our institutional effectiveness and
create a college culture that promotes respect, trust, communication, innovation and

The purpose of the survey was to:
- Obtain the perceptions of personnel concerning the college climate. (Climate refers
to the prevailing condition that affects satisfaction [e.g., morale and feelings]
and productivity [e.g., task completion or goal attainment] at a particular point
- Provide information to assist CCRI in establishing priorities while promoting more
open and constructive communication among faculty, staff and administrators, and
- Provide a baseline for key performance factors tied to the strategic plan and to measure
change in institutional climate over a multi-year period.
