The Office of Institutional Equity handles harassment and discrimination cases at CCRI through Title IX policies and procedures. Additionally, the OIE administers programs and workshops to foster an inclusive and diverse college culture.
Under the auspices of the President, the Office of Institutional Equity provides leadership and guidance to the CCRI campus community on issues of equity to foster inclusive learning and workspaces.
Through educational initiatives, consultation and oversight of our College’s harassment prevention and nondiscrimination policies and reporting systems (including all aspects of AA/EEO compliance and Title IX), the Office of Institutional Equity:
- Serves students, faculty and staff as a primary resource for reporting incidents of unlawful harassment or discrimination,
- Develops and disseminates policies related to equity, discrimination, and harassment,
- Supports efforts to strengthen college organizational culture, and
- Guides recruitment and hiring practices to support an equitable and performance-based hiring process
What We Do
The Office of Institutional Equity encompasses multiple initiatives that build and strengthen an inclusive and diverse CCRI culture. OIE members work alongside faculty and other staff members during the hiring process, dialogue-based workshops, and educational sessions to educate members of the CCRI community are aware of policies related to equity and inclusion and equipped to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment.

CCRI’s 2018-21 Strategic Plan includes a goal to “define and establish a CCRI culture that promotes transparency, respect, and accountability.” The OIE is working with an employee task force to envision a strengthened culture, and is actively engaging all employees in this process.
