The City of Providence has partnered with local business and organization to provide structured, work-based, career-potential opportunities for college students with some prior work experience. Students can earn money while doing valuable work in an environment that respects, supports and develops emerging adults.
Participating employers to date include: AAA, Armory Revival Company, Care New England Health Systems, Center for Women and Enterprise, Cornish Associates, Crossroads Rhode Island, Darrow Everett LLP, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, Evolis, Federal Hill House, Global View Communications, Goodwin-Bradley, Co., KITE Architects, Marriott Hotels, New England Medical Innovation Center, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Providence Foundation, Rhode Island Foundation, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Stages of Freedom, The Mullings Group, United Natural Foods, Inc., and Ximedica.
Opportunities include: marketing and public relations, digital communications, business development and operations, administration, hospitality, legal, health care, diversity and inclusion, property management, information technology, finance and construction.
Students can expect to work 20-30 hours per week for 6 weeks at $10.10 per hour. One week paid training begins on July 5. Attending an orientation is mandatory, and employers will choose candidates to interview. This is an outstanding opportunity to meet and network with professionals in your area of interest. Eligible CCRI students may be able to earn college credit through Career Planning.
