CCRI's men's golf team

The CCRI men’s golf team has earned 17 NJCAA Region XXI Championships and compiled a 487-168-7 record since its first season in 1967. In 2015, the Knights had arguable their best season, finishing eighth in the NJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament, with four golfers finishing in the top 50. This was the best finish at nationals in recent CCRI golf history. The team finished the 2015 season with a 6-0 record. Golfers frequently earn medals as well as All-American, All-Region and All-District honors. The team competes and practices at Cranston Country Club as its home course.

Cranston Country Club in western Cranston, Rhode Island is home to CCRI's championship golf program. The 18-hole, well-manicured course is host to hundreds of local tournaments each year along with special events and parties.

The club has longtime ties to the Community College of Rhode Island because of its owners. The Lombardi family, owners of the Cranston Country Club have a son Michael who was a standout golfer for the Community College golf team. He was also inducted into our Athletic Hall of Fame. Currently, Michael owns and operates the Cranston Country Club. He is committed to keeping the Lombardi family tradition going strong.

Tom Palmer, Director of Golf at Cranston is also a former member of the CCRI Golf program. CCRI could not ask for a better venue and quality individuals who recognize the important of a quality education.
