11.07.18

Warwick, R.I. –November 5, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team continued play in the Frederick Community College Tip-off Mixer on Sunday in Frederick, Maryland and faced the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College. The Lady Knights fell to Hagerstown 63-51. With the loss CCRI begins the season 0-2.

Playing their second game in two days the Lady Knights were not able to score as much as in their first game versus Frederick. Though they did not score as much their defense was much better holding the Hawks to just 63 points. However CCRI only managed 51 points and that lack of offensive output sealed their fate as they fell by the final count of 63-51.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights offensively was freshman Courtney Dorr (East Providence, RI) with a team-high 11 points including three 3-pointers with seven rebounds, two steals and an assist. Also having a good game was sophomore Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) with nine points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists and sophomore Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI) had nine points with four rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot.

The next game for the Lady Knights will be this Thursday November 8th when they travel to Newport, RI to play the Midshipmen Candidates from the Naval Academy Preparatory School at 5:30pm.
