Warwick, R.I. – November 5, 2018: The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team traveled to Frederick Community College (FCC) in Frederick, MD to compete in the FCC tip-off Mixer. In their first game the Lady Knights faced the Cougars of FCC. CCRI lost to FCC 81-74. With the loss the Lady Knights begin the season 0-1.

This was the first game for Head Coach Doug Haynes as Head Coach of the Lady Knights. The hosting Cougars took an early lead and led for most of the game as they took a 43-33 lead into the halftime break. After some adjustments were made at the half by Haynes and his staff the Lady Knights came out with renewed vigor and were able to take a 69-66 lead late in the game. However the Cougars answered with clutch 3-point shooting and by converting important free throws down the stretch to secure the 91-74 victory.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights was sophomore Jada Littlejohn (Providence, RI) with a game-high 28 points including four 3-pointers with six rebounds, a steal and an assists. Sophomore Kat Raposo (Warwick, RI) contributed 16 points with a 3-pointer, three steals, three rebounds and an assist. Freshman Courtney Dorr (East Providence, RI) also scored in double-figures with 11 points including three 3-pointers while freshman Olivia Batastini-Pallister (Providence, RI) added eight points including two 3-pointers.
