The Knights, having taken game one needed just one more win to book their spot in their first College World Series since 2012. Suffolk, needing to win both of the remaining games to keep their season alive did well to open scoring in the top of the second inning. CCRI then wasted no time answering back as the got on the scoreboard in the bottom of second inning. Game one RBI leader sophomore Kyle McCann (Coventry, RI) scored freshman David Meech (Douglas, MA) on a sacrifice fly to make the game 1-1.

The Knights would next strike in the sixth inning, scoring twice to take a 4-1 lead. Freshman Anthony Ramos (Cranston, RI) launched a two-run double that scored both Alejandro Martinez and David Meech.

Anthony Ramos then hit his second homerun of the postseason, a two-run shot that gave CCRI a 7-1 lead. That would be all the Knights would need and they would take the District F title with a 7-1 win over Suffolk.

Another strong pitching performance helped the Knights keep the potent Suffolk offense quiet. Freshman Ben Sears (East Providence, RI) threw some of his best stuff on Saturday, allowing a mere three hits and just one run through eight innings of work. Sears added 13 strikeouts for good measure and didn't walk a single batter faced all game.
