CCRI Track Commences Outdoor Season at Corsair Invite!

Warwick, R.I. – April 1, 2019: The CCRI Track team brought four athletes to the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Corsair Invitational. Both the Knights and Lady Knights teams failed to score but had good individual efforts throughout the meet.

Leading the way for the Knights was Aaron Cedeno (North Providence, RI) placed 27th in the 400m run with a season-best time of 56.55 seconds. Cedeno also placed 49th in the 200m dash with a season-time of 25.11 seconds. Both times were his best as a Knight. Kyree Davis (Cumberland, RI) placed 56th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.25 seconds. Davis returned to place 31st in the Long Jump with a leap of 15'02"

For the Lady Knights Hannah Morrissey (Burrillville, RI) placed 51st in the 200m dash with a time of 33.63seconds. Morrissey also placed 25th in the 400m with a time of 1 minute 16.79 seconds. Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) placed 51st in the 1,500m run with a time of 6:18.75.

Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet: "Good efforts for the first meet of the outdoor season."

The next meet for CCRI will be Saturday April 6th when they travel to Fitchburg State to compete in the James Sheehan Memorial Invitational starting at 10am.
