This April the Art Department sponsored a one-day trip to two museums in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of northwestern Massachusetts. Our first stop was to see "Drawn to Greatness," an extraordinary collection of drawings from The Frick Collection in New York City on loan to The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Mass. The second stop was to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA) in North Adams to see contemporary exhibitions and installations throughout one of the largest and most renowned museum spaces in the world! At the end, students and professors earned a warm evening out in Northampton on the way home!
Art Department bus trips are an extension of our academics. Department trips are an affordable way for the students to see original art in premiere venues, and be together with friends and faculty--learning, dining and sharing ideas that complement studio practice and art history studies. #ccriart
