About S.V.O.

All Veterans will succeed in higher education, achieve their academic goals, and gain meaningful employment.

To provide military and veteran students with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation.

CCRI SVO Overview:

The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) was built by fellow student Veterans to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed in the transition from combat, to higher education. We recognize and understand the challenges and obstacles faced by students from enrolling and class selection, to VA benefits and financial aid. When coupled with the visible and invisible wounds of war, a college degree seems to be an elusive goal for me and women returning from military service. The SVO is building veteran groups for camaraderie, mentorship and professional networking in each campus of the Community College of Rhode Island to assist in making those goals easily attainable.
