Community College of Rhode Island Security Awareness Day
"Building a Culture of Security Awareness"
Hosted by the Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick, R.I.
Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013
To recognize the National Cyber Security Awareness Month, CCRI's goal is to raise security awareness. The college has invited leading subject matter experts to share their insights and perspective on the foremost security trends, prevention awareness, identity management, impact on personal privacy, PCI compliance, digital forensics, detection and prevention technology, the cost of security and strategies to build an in-house security program. The day will include presentations from leaders in the Boston FBI, the international SANS Institute and the URI Digital Forensics Center. There will be a live demonstration on security vulnerability in the cloud environment. Included will be a recently completed actual PCI case study and another presentation by a recognized speaker on how to budget for security. The day will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include complimentary lunch. Morning general sessions will be followed by afternoon breakout sessions depending on your topic of interest; i.e. technology, finance or management.
The Security Awareness Day event is aimed at all attendees within the organization who would be affected by this topic. This would include IT, CISO, compliance, HR, legal, risk management, budget and financial staff from attending organizations.
