CCRI receives major gifts from Amica, White Family Foundation
April 3, 2012
I am pleased to share the Community College of Rhode Island Foundation has received two significant gifts that will help the college fund capital improvement projects and establish a scholarship for students.
Amica Mutual Insurance Company has made a $100,000 contribution to the Foundation in support of capital improvement projects not covered by state funding such as renovations to the Bobby Hackett Theater at the Knight Campus in Warwick and the biology labs in Warwick and Lincoln.
The White Family Foundation, led by Taco Inc. President and CEO John Hazen White Jr., has given a $20,000 gift to directly benefit students. This gift will be used to establish a scholarship that recipients can use to defray the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies. Foundation representatives will be visiting the Knight Campus in Warwick to present the check on May 1.
The college is grateful for the generosity of these local organizations that support CCRI’s mission to educate Rhode Island’s future leaders. The college truly appreciates their contributions and the opportunities they allow us to provide for CCRI students. This page developed and maintained by Office of the President.
