Happy Thanksgiving to the college community
A message from President Di Pasquale, Nov. 22, 2011
In the midst of what can be the busiest time of the year with holiday planning and the semester winding down, Thanksgiving is a welcome pause and a time to reflect.
As we prepare to spend time with family and friends, it’s important to remember that we are all part of a family and community here at the Community College of Rhode Island. Often, we spend more time here at the college with colleagues than we do with our own families. Just as we treat our family with respect and civility, we need to always remember to treat our colleagues with the same respect and civility. As a family at CCRI, we depend on each other to accomplish our shared mission.
We’re thankful for the good work that we do, helping our students to change their lives and achieve their dreams. In these difficult and uncertain economic times, we’re thankful that we have a college that has remained true to its mission and we have faculty and staff who are motivated and dedicated. We reach out to those among us who have lost loved ones in the past year and provide needed support and encouragement.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to extend my thanks to all of you for everything that you do for the college. With record enrollment, this is a time of opportunity for CCRI and our community college will play an active leadership role in academic and workforce development to help guide the economic recovery of our state.
Please take care over the holiday and enjoy the Thanksgiving break with family and friends.
