After Irene: A message from President Di Pasquale
Aug. 29, 2011
I hope you, your families and your homes survived Tropical Storm Irene relatively unscathed. Like many of you, I am still without power at the Knight Estate and while I survived the storm, unfortunately many beautiful trees, including this one in the front yard, did not. View a gallery of campus images after the storm.
As you may already be aware, the Newport County Campus is without power and we are working to have it restored as soon as possible so business may continue as usual. The Warwick, Lincoln and Providence campuses are fully operational and sustained minimal damage, which is being cleaned up. I wish to extend a sincere thank you to all of our employees who continue to pitch in and make sure we are prepared to welcome students for the first day of classes on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
To kick-off the new academic year, Opening Day for faculty and staff will be held at the Knight Campus in Warwick on Tuesday, Sept. 6. As usual, there will be a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Great Hall and the program will begin at 9 a.m. in the Bobby Hackett Theater.
I hope that power is restored soon and the cleanup process here and at home continues to run smoothly as we get ready for the year ahead. I will provide updates about the status of the Newport Campus as they become available. Best of luck and I look forward to seeing you on Opening Day.This page developed and maintained by Office of the President. Send comments and suggestions to email@example.com .
