All invited to Armed Forces Recognition Day

Nov. 5, 2014

The Community College of Rhode Island Student Veterans Organization (SVO) invites students, employees and members of the community to the fourth annual Armed Forces Recognition Day from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, in the rear of the student cafeteria at the college's Flanagan Campus, 1762 Louisquisset Pike, Lincoln.

Armed Forces Recognition Day will be a time of remembrance, gratitude and celebration. State leaders, students and community members will come together to honor the men and women responsible for the freedom our Stars and Stripes represent.

The SVO will present a plaque for the campus recognizing the troops who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in the war on terror and will remember local men and women killed in action by reading their names and presenting a flag to Gold Star parents.
