Actress to offer insider’s view of Hollywood, Broadway Dec. 13 at Liston Campus

Dec. 3, 2014

Stacee Chimo Tracee Chimo, who has performed on Broadway and in television and film, will visit the Liston Campus on Dec. 13.

The Community College of Rhode Island Players invite all to get a look inside the world of stage and screen at "Hollywood vs. Broadway: An Insider's View Featuring Tracee Chimo" at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Liston Campus, 1 Hilton St., Providence.

Chimo, a professional actress who will star opposite Elizabeth Moss in the upcoming revival of "The Heidi Chronicles" on Broadway, will present a workshop discussion comparing and contrasting the life of a Hollywood actor with the life of a Broadway actor.

Chimo starred in "Bad Jews" at the Roundabout for two consecutive years. She originated the iconic role, Daphna, for which she received the 2014 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress as well as Outer Critic's Circle and Drama League Award nominations.

She created the roles of Reagan in "Bachelorette" (Second Stage Theater) and Lauren in "Circle Mirror Transformation" (Playwright's Horizons), which the CCRI Players are presenting Dec. 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 at the Liston Campus.

Chimo also has appeared on Broadway in "Harvey" opposite Jim Parsons and "Irena's Vow." She received the Clarence Derwent Award in 2011 for Most Promising Actress in New York and an OBIE and Drama Desk Awards for her work in "Circle Mirror Transformation."

Her television work includes "Orange is the New Black," "Black Box," "The Money" and guest starring roles on "Louie," "Royal Pains" and "The Good Wife." Her film credits include "The Five-Year Engagement," "Concussion," "Take Care," "Side Effects" and Michael Mann's "Blackhat," which will be released in 2015.
