JAA Days

Learn more about JAA • Meet with RIC & URI Advisors

JAA Days are an opportunity for interested students to learn about the program and for continuing JAA students to meet with advisors. JAA Days take place during the fall and spring semesters on all CCRI campuses.

Did you miss the Spring 2014 JAA Days?

Meeting with a CCRI advisor and a RIC or URI advisor every semester while you are a student at CCRI is a great benefit of JAA and an important program requirement.  Students who do not meet this requirement are putting their opportunity of transferring through JAA at risk.  If you did not attend one of the recent JAA Days you still need to have advising from CCRI and RIC or URI advisors this semester. Please choose one of the following options below:

If you plan to attend RIC through the JAA program

  • First, meet with a CCRI advisor to discuss and obtain your fall 2014 Education Plan (list of course recommendations.) Contact information is provided below.
  • Second, email the JAA Advisor at RIC, Dolores Passarelli, who is available to meet with JAA students on the RIC campus.  Once she receives your email, Dolores may schedule an appointment with you on the RIC campus or advise you via email.
  • RIC JAA Advisor contact information: jaa@ric.edu or 401-456-8083.

If you plan to attend URI through the JAA program

  • First, meet with a CCRI advisor to discuss and obtain your fall 2014 Education Plan (list of course recommendations.) Contact information is provided below.
  • Second, email the JAA Advisor at URI, Jen Legare, who is available to meet with JAA students on the URI campus.  Once she receives your email, Jen may schedule an appointment with you on the URI campus or advise you via email.
  • URI JAA Advisor contact information: jaa@etal.uri.edu (401)874-4972.

When emailing your RIC or URI JAA advisors, we suggest the following guidelines:

  • Use “JAA Student” in the subject line.
  • Give your full name with middle initial and your CCRI ID number.
  • Indicate your current JAA transition plan (the major you intend to follow once you transfer.)
  • List the course titles with course numbers as recommended by your CCRI advisor and listed on your fall 2014 Education Plan.
  • For record keeping purposes, please copy (Cc) the JAA program on your email. jaa@ccri.edu

When meeting with your RIC or URI JAA advisors, please bring the following:

  • Your fall 2014 Education Plan (list of course recommendations) obtained from a CCRI academic advisor,
  • Your most current degree evaluation, and
  • Your most current unofficial transcript.

For all JAA students graduating from CCRI in spring/summer of 2014:

  • Please meet with a CCRI academic advisor immediately to begin your transition process. Registration for fall classes at RIC and URI is now underway!
  • If you are graduating but wish to defer your enrollment to RIC or URI, you must contact the RIC or URI JAA advisors to request permission for a deferral.
  • Please notify JAA of any changes in your transfer plans. jaa@ccri.edu
