Setup Office 365 email on your iPhone

  1. About this tutorial
    1. This tutorial will help you connect your iPhone to Microsoft’s Office365 service.
    2. It is intended for CCRI student users only.
    3. In order to complete this task, you will need to know your Knight Username and Password, (
    4. The screen shots below were captured on an iPhone 4 using iOS version 6.1.3.
  2. Setup steps
    1. Open the "Settings" menu:

    2. Open "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

    3. Under the "Accounts" section, open "Add account...":

    4. In the "Add account" menu, select "Microsoft Exchange"

    5. In the "Exchange" screen:
      1. In the "Email" field, type your CCRI email address:
        "(your user name here)" (see: Knight Account Username Lookup).
      2. In the "Password" field, type your CCRI password.
      3. In the "Description" field, type a meaningful description for the account.
      4. Click the "Next" button.

    6. After verification, the "Exchange" screen will display syncing options. Decide which options you want on or off, then click "Save":

    7. The "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" screen should reappear, displaying the new account:

    8. Go to your home screen and open the new email account to check that it is working.

      1. IMPORTANT: A false error message pop-up may appear briefly --it should quickly disappear and your new account will begin to download email.
      2. If receiving is working, you should have received, or will receive shortly, an email from Microsoft Outlook:

      3. If you did not receive the above email, try sending an email to the new account from another email account.
      4. Also, try sending a test email from the new account to one of your other email accounts.
        1. If "sending" is not working, you will get an immediate error message.
        2. If no error appears, check the account you sent to, to be sure it came through.
          1. NOTE: The email may take a while to arrive, depending on CCRI's email server traffic.

      5. If you cannot send and/or receive email using the new account:
        1. Double-check your settings
        2. If still a problem, go to the IT Help Desk during business hours or contact them via:
