Faculty Technology Day, August 17, 2010
The Information Technology Department invites faculty to attend the biannual Faculty Technology Day on Tuesday, August 17, 9:00 AM -- 3:00 PM on the Knight campus. Faculty technology leaders and Instructional Technology staff will spotlight technologies that instructors can integrate into their teaching practices and demonstrate resources for a meaningful integration of technology.
The focus of this year’s morning presentations in KN 4080, 9:00 AM – noon, will be the official rollout of Blackboard as CCRI's primary Learning Management System. See how other faculty have effectively transitioned their courses from from WebCT to Blackboard. Learn about the Safe Assign and Respondus Lockdown Browser Building Blocks available on Bb. Also hear about the pilot program for Camtasia Leacture Capture. Camtasia Lecture Capture enables faculty to easily record lectures at the classroom instructor computers and post them on Blackboard courses or faculty web pages. And there will be more....
In the afternoon breakout sessions from 1 to 3 PM attend a focused Bb session that meets your immediate needs: sign up for hands-on project time to build your Bb course, create and administer assessments and assignments utilizing Respondus Lock Down Browser and Safe Assign, or master the Bb Grade Center. There will be something to learn for everyone, whether you are a beginner or experienced Bb user.
