iPad Settings

Change the wallpaper
  • Find the image you want to save
  • Press and hold on the screen and select Save Image
  • Tap Settings then Brightness & Wallpaper
  • Click the arrow to the right, go to Saved Photos and select your image
  • Press the Set Lock Screen or Set Home Screen or both
Disable the keyboard "clicking" noise

Trying to type notes in class? Get rid of the clicking noise by going to Settings > General > Sounds and turn off Keyboard Clicks.

Enable the Bookmarks Bar in Safari
  • Are off by default.
    • Tap Settings then Safari and turn on Always Show Bookmarks bar
    Control iPad notifications
    • Tap Settings, Notifications, and configure which alerts (and accompanying sounds) will appear
    Stop asking to join Wi-Fi networks
    • Tap Settings then Wi-F
    • Turn off Ask to Join Networks
    VPN
    • Tap Settings, then General then Network
    • Select the VPN and move the slider to On
    • Add a VPN configuration with your server and account details
    Turn battery percentage off
    • Tap Settings then General then Usage
    • Tap off
    Dim your iBooks
    • Tap Settings
    • Tap Brightness option
    • Select by moving your finger over slider
    Home Sharing

    Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes (Advanced menu) and on your iPad

    • Tap Settings then iPod and enter your Apple ID
    • Launch the iPod app on your iPad
    • In the left column, find the little house with "Library" next to it
    • Tap on that and then on one of the Shared Libraries. (it will take a few minutes to update)
    Orientation Lock or Mute
    • Tap Settings > General to choose between Lock Rotation and Mute
    Find My iPad
    • Tap Settings then Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    • Tap the Add Account button and Tap MobileMe
    • Enter you iTunes or MobileMe account information (existing account)

    • Tap on Create Free Apple ID (non existing account). You may need to check your inbox and verify your account now.
    • Return to the MobileMe screen and switch on Find My iPad.
    • Sign into me.com to see your iPad on a map, or install the Find My iPhone app from the App Store
