Distance Learning Room
The Distance Learning Room on the Knight Campus is equipped with Polycom two-way video conferencing equipment and can be used to link up with classrooms at remote locations either for conferencing purposes, lectures, or distance learning courses. Polycom makes it possible for people at different sites to communicate through the "magic" of two-way audio and two-way compressed video. Because of special cameras, viewing monitors, and microphones at each location, you will be able to interact with others at distant sites as easily as you can with those located at your own site. In addition, the Distance Learning Room is equipped with a Document Camera, VCR, DVD Player, Audio Cassette Player, CD Player, PC, and Electronic White Board, all of which can be used to transmit computer files, videos, or audio programs between locations.
Instructional Technology-Media Services will provide specialized training for faculty members interested in using the Distance Learning Room. To arrange for training or to reserve class time in one of the DL Rooms, please contact Gene Grande at 333-7031 or fill out the online request for videoconferencing form. In order to allow enough time for training and scheduling, please make your request as far in advance as possible. Scheduling of Distance Learning Rooms is dependent upon availability.
For more information on videoconferencing services at CCRI, please email Gene Grande at firstname.lastname@example.org.
