WordPress

Build your faculty webpage using WordPress

CCRI provides faculty websites as a vehicle for faculty to distribute course-related documentation and contact information for their CCRI students. The new CCRI faculty Web is powered by WordPress. We are adopting the use of this web-based editing and publishing tool as an alternative to FrontPage - a legacy technology that is no longer supported by Microsoft. Faculty who do not have a WordPress site will need to request one via the Faculty Web Request Form at least two business days before the workshop. Also please be prepared with electronic access to your office hours, photograph, biography text, list and short description of the courses you teach, and course syllabi to add to your new WordPress site.

Bb Online Assessments

Learn the essentials for creating and delivering on-line assessments in Blackboard

This workshop is designed to demonstrate how to create an assessment for online delivery using three easy methods: from an existing Word document into Respondus, creating questions inside Blackboard, or creating questions in Respondus to import to Blackboard. Respondus is a powerful tool available to faculty for creating and managing tests. We will also discuss key settings inside Test Options in order to effectively deliver your online test. Other topics will include creating Random Blocks of questions and Question Sets to be used in your test. Please bring sample questions in order to practice creating a sample test.

Video Captioning

Demonstration of video captioning with Camtasia Studio

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal anti-discrimination statute designed to ensure equal access to opportunities and benefits for qualified individuals with disabilities. In many state, government, and education institutions, videos must include ADA compliant captions. In this workshop you will learn the guidelines for ADA compliant captions, tips for writing captions, and how to create video captioning with Camtasia Studio, which is available to CCRI faculty in the Centers for Instructional Technology (CITs).
